Many times, when homeowners have an older house, they consider what areas of the home can be upgraded to help improve the value. If you are considering remodeling your bathroom, there are some modern designs that you may want to think about using. These are some of the things that you may want to consider.
Bathtub or Shower?
Depending on the size of the bathroom, you may have to choose between a standalone walk-in shower and a tub shower combo. Both designs have their benefits, but it depends on your style. A walk-in shower gives the bathroom more of an open field and helps give off the feeling of more space. If you have the room to do so, consider adding both, a walk-in shower and a tub. It’s a modern design perfect for a master bathroom.
Think About Safety
While mostly associated with individuals who have a hard time maneuvering, grab bars can be very beneficial throughout the bathroom, especially in the shower. With the floors becoming slippery and the potential for a fall increasing, there should be some sort of safety support to prevent from such a problem.
There are many modern showers that include a ledge or some other area for the individual taking a shower to sit and relax. It is also helpful for releasing some of the stresses that you may be experiencing, allowing you to rest in the shower comfortably.
Mind the Lights
If you are going to have a vanity where you plan on getting ready, make sure you have proper lighting and that the area is bright. You get to choose what paint colors you want the walls as well, leaving the vibe of the room to your liking.
